2013 Cajun Country Championship, Lake Arthur Yacht Club, Louisiana

The FSSA Flying Scot Cajun Country Championship will be held Saturday November 23rd at Lake Arthur Yacht Club. 
Skippers’ meeting will be at 10 AM with racing starts to follow.

This a fun one day regatta.  Wallace Pallatou / SYC will be PRO. 
No lunch will be served, but hot Gumbo available after the races!

For the regatta camping at Lake Arthur YC is permitted.  LAYC is about 15 miles from several motels in Jennings, LA.

1        RULES                                                                                                                                                           

1.1     These races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). See http://www.sailing.org/tools/documents/ISAFRRS20132016Final-[13376].pdf.                                                                 

1.2     Also applicable are one-design class rules of the Flying Scot Sailing Association.                                                              

1.3     All sailors will follow US Coast Guard and Louisiana boating safety regulations.

2       ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 

2.1    Eligible to compete is any Flying Scot sloop.

2.2    The boat owner or responsible party shall enter an eligible boat by completing the registration form, which requires name of boat’s skipper and boat’s sail number.  

 

3        SCHEDULE

3.1     Registration will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00AM at the LAYC clubhouse Saturday 23 November 2013.

3.2     The Skippers’ Meeting will begin at 10:00 AM at the clubhouse.

3.3     At the Skippers’ Meeting the regatta’s Principal Race Officer (PRO) will give the approximate time for the 1st race’s warning signal.

3.4     The 2nd and 3rd races will follow completion of the previous race.

3.5      No race will be started after 2:30 PM.

3.6     Award presentations will be as soon as possible after the completion of the races.

 

4        SCORING

4.1     RRS A4 Low Point Scoring will apply with no score excluded. This changes RRS A2.

4.2     Three Races are planned but completion of a single race may constitute the regatta.

 

5        SAFETY AND LIABILITY

5.1     Competitors participate in the races at their own risk.  See rule 4 in RRS.

5.2     Because no rescue boat will be on station for these races, each competitor shall be prepared to rescue self.

5.3     The organizing authority will not accept liability for material damage or personal injury or death in   conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the races.
